Beautiful Beaches of Cyprus

Cyprus is nothing if not beautiful beaches.

They are accessible from anywhere and there are so many of them that they are the preferred mode to cool down that it is a way of life in summer.Almost all population of island and few million visitors spend long days and evenings on beaches.

The beaches are aquamarine blue, clean, safe and everywhere. In summer nothing is more important. Anywhere you go you see people either walking to or from the beaches. Old people, young people, big, small, men, women and children all marching with a singularity of purpose, to go for a dip and enjoy Nature’s bounty.

Beaches offer a variety to suit every taste. There are sand beaches with clean golden sand, there are pebbled beaches, beaches with waves that are a surfer’s delight and ones with smooth gentle clear water , beaches that are isolated and almost private and ones which are full of people. The coastline is jagged with natural coves and indents.

The rocky outcrops hide secluded coves if that is what you are looking for. So whatever you prefer, there is something for you.

There is the whole array of water sports but for those who would much rather relax with a cool drink or read a book, there are lovely little cafes dotting the beach.

Every city has beautiful tree lined promenades. Fantastic facilities like showers , sunbeds, umbrellas and best of all really really clean toilets.

Last I checked there were 52 Blue flag beaches in Cyprus. The Blue Flag eco-labels are awarded to beaches that meet water quality and safety standards, and use strict European Water Directive guidelines.

Cyprus was adjudged to have the cleanest beaches in Europe, with 99 per cent of its coastline meeting the EU standards.

Cyprus beaches are golden sands as far as the eye can see with the warm Mediterranean lapping at the sands. Cyprus, the third largest island in the Mediterranean, has coastline that is almost unending and unparalleled in beauty.
