Best Walks and Treks

Cyprus authorities have developed 48 nature trails covering a distance of 200 kms in aggregate, spread all over Cyprus. They are unique paths introducing to the walkers a variety of vegetation, birds, natural beauty and culture of Cyprus.
All trails are very well mapped and marked with adequate signposts.

Trodoos region has 5 dedicated trails which are all very interesting. Other natural trails are spread over areas around Akamas, Pitsylia, Athalasssa park, Machairas Forest/ Lefkara, Stavros tis Psokas, Kavo Greko and Germasogeia dam.

Besides taking your pick on which one suits you best there are two walks you should never miss if you love walking – one behind Four Seasons hotel in Limassol leading towards Amathus excavations alongside the sea and a trek to Kaledonia falls starting from the Psilon Dendron Trout farm, near Platres. Both these offer a blend of Cypriot coastal and natural beauty. The Limassol coastal walk passes through beaches maintained by some of the best hotels in town and we often do it as a family as it requires little planning and can be done whenever the weather and the mood are right. The trek to Kaledonia falls makes a lovely day out as you journey along the very scenic Kyros Potamos ravine.

Another very exciting way of enjoying nature in Cyprus is to spend the day at one of the numerous fully developed and well maintained picnic sites, mostly in the Troodos range. These sites laden with Pine trees offer all facilities like Bar-b-que, running tap water, play areas, wooden benches/tables and WC.

Cyprus is not just about sun and sea - there is so much more to explore and discover here..
