Eimai Kypria - Yes I am a Cypriot
Those used to rat race of life might complain about the tameness and predictablility of life in Cyprus. But it works for me. I do not want any surprises and adventure so long as I can give safe, happy childhood to my children. As long as I do not have to check the door latches or open windows or car, as long as I do not have to worry about some criminal lurking around the corner - and I do not - this slow paced relaxed lifestyle works for me.
God must have decided to bless the seas so its waves could go rest on the beaches of Cyprus. This little heaven of an island might have been God's creation but its character has been formed by people who display incomparable charm, chivalry and hospitality.
Some day, a great man, I hope will fly into Cyprus and its divided capital Nicosia and say brave words as John Kennedy did in solidarity with the residents of a divided Berlin.
Till then, I, one of the expatriates, can say like many of my friends, Eimai kypria. Yes I am a Cypriot.
